Joh Helps USA to Victory in Curtis Cup
June 1, 2008
UCLA's Tiffany Joh scored one match play point on Sunday to help the team from the United States continue its streak in the Curtis Cup held this year at The Old Course in St. Andrews, Scotland.
The USA won 13-7 against a team from Great Britain and Ireland.
Joh defeated Scotland's Carly Booth 6 and 5 in the leadoff singles match of the day. The UCLA All-American got off to a slow start with bogeys on her first two holes, giving Booth a 2-up lead. But Joh, a match play veteran with a U.S. Women's Amateur Publinks title to her credit, stormed back to win seven of the next 10 holes and bury her opponent on the 14th hole.
The victory was the USA's sixth straight in a series it leads 26-6-3.
