SEATTLE - Senior pitcher Caitlin Noble headlines a list of six Washington softball players that have been named to the Pac-10 All-Academic team. Noble was named to the first team, while Dani Stuart was a second team pick and four others earned honorable mention status.
Noble, who is also a three-time Academic All-District VIII pick, has a 3.46 grade point average and is majoring in History. This is Noble's third Pac-10 academic honor, after earning second team recognition the past two seasons. She leaves the UW ranked fourth all-time in career strikeouts with 757.
Stuart earned her first Pac-10 All-Academic award. The junior infielder carries a 3.54 grade point average and is majoring in Biology.
Juniors Marnie Koziol and Ashlyn Watson, and sophomores Amanda Fleischman and Alyson McWherter each received honorable mention status. This was the second straight year that Koziol and Watson have been named to the honorable mention team.
The six selections mark the most for the Huskies since having seven players selected in 2000.
To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
