Shackleton Twins Highlight Pac-10 All-Academic Track & Field Teams

Twenty-five members of the men's and women's track and field team have been honored for their achievements in the track and the classroom as the Pac-10 office announced the 2008 All-Academic selections on Monday.

Twin brothers Drew and Kyle Shackleton led the men's team with first-team accolades. Both juniors are Business/Economics majors with Drew carrying a 3.72 gpa and Kyle maintaining a 3.79 gpa. Senior vaulter Chris Bencomo was named to a second-team honoree with a 3.56 gpa in Anthropology.

Earning honorable mention honors are - sophomore Marco Anzures, sophomore Alex Crabill, redshirt freshman Scott Crawford, sophomore Ryan Gordon, senior Henry Hagenbuch, senior Zack Miller, senior Austin Ramos, sophomore Kevin Sullivan, junior Bobby Talley and redshirt freshman Greg Woepse.

On the women's side, sophomore Julia Co was a second-team honoree with a 3.77 gpa as an undeclared major.

Earning honorable mention accolades are - junior Olga Aulet-Leon, junior Megan Jamerson, junior Lauren Jirges, senior Ingrid Kantola, sophomore Rosa Magana, senior Claire Rethmeier, senior Leslie Rychel, junior Katy Viuf, junior Rhonda Watkins, redshirt freshman Kelcie Wiemann and senior Elizabeth Woepse.
