Henderson & Acuff Advance To Event Finals At Olympic Trials

Bruin alums Amy Acuff and Monique Henderson qualified for their respective event finals on Monday evening at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, OR. Acuff tied for first in the high jump with a clearance of 5-11.50, while Henderson was third in heat two and fifth overall in the 400m with a time of 51.07.

Acuff will compete for her fourth Olympic Games on Friday and Henderson will go for her second Olympic competition on Thursday.

Also on Monday, senior-to-be Boldizsar Kocsor finished 17th in the hammer with a best mark of 219-2.

All athletes will get a break from competition for the next two days, with the Trials resuming on Thursday. Several Bruins will be in action when competition resumes with Jessica Cosby and Cari Soong in the hammer, Chelsea Johnson, Tracy O'Hara, Ingrid Kantola and Tori Anthony in the pole vault, Henderson in the 400m final, Jon Rankin in the 1500m, and Greg Garza and John Godina in the discus.
