July 11, 2008
UCLA sophomore Philip Francis made the cut at the PGA Tour's John Deere Classic Friday in Silvis, IL.
Francis, playing as an amateur on a sponsor's exemption, posted a second round score of 71 (E) and was tied for 44th place at 138 (-4). He made four birdies, four bogeys and 10 pars. In contrast to Thursday's four-under par round of 67 in which he had 26 putts, he needed 31 putts in the second round.
