Aug. 22, 2008

STANFORD, Calif. - Junior Kelley O'Hara, Stanford's leading scorer in 2007 with nine goals, has been selected to the second team of Soccer America's 2008 Preseason All-America list. The preseason honor is the first for O'Hara, who was selected as a second team NSCAA/adidas All-American and a third team Top Drawer Soccer All-American at the conclusion of last year.

Also, three more preseason national polls were released, and the Cardinal found itself ranked in the top ten of all three, checking in at No. 6 in Soccer America's roll and No. 7 in Soccer Times' list. Stanford also earned a No. 8 ranking in Top Drawer Soccer's poll.

The Cardinal kicks off the season this Sunday with its home opener at 1 p.m. against Pacific. The Tigers will play their first regulation match Friday evening against Sacramento State before heading to the Bay Area for Sunday's match.
