California's Carli Lloyd Named Pac-10 Volleyball Player Of The Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- CALIFORNIA setter Carli Lloyd has been named the Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Aug 23 - Aug. 31, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Lloyd, a sophomore from Bonsall, Calif., earned MVP honors at the Cal Molten Classic after California posted victories over St. John's and UC Santa Barbara.

For the tournament, Lloyd posted 66 assists (11.0 aps) in guiding the fifth-ranked Bears to a .347 attack percentage. She added eight kills in 12 attempts without an error, and tallied 10 digs and five total blocks for the week.

This is the first weekly honor for Lloyd, and California's 23rd Pac-10 Player of the Week all-time.
