Wopamo Osaisai Named Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Week

STANFORD, Calif. - Senior cornerback Wopamo Osaisai was named the Pac-10's Defensive Player of the Week today for his outstanding performance in Stanford's, 36-28 season-opening victory last Thursday against Oregon State.

Osaisai finished the game with a career-high 11 tackles, including nine solo stops and two pass breakups to help Stanford to an eight point win over the Beavers.

USC quarterback Mark Sanchez was named the Pac-10's Offensive Player of the Week while UCLA placekicker Kai Forbath earned special teams honors.

Stanford travels to Tempe this Saturday night for a meeting with the 15th-ranked Arizona State Sun Devils. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m. in Sun Devil Stadium.
