No. 9 Husky Volleyball Downs St. Mary's, 3-0

HONOLULU - The ninth-ranked Washington volleyball team swept its seventh straight opponent Friday night, defeating Saint Mary's, 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-16) in the second day of the Rainbow Wahine Invitational. With the win, the Huskies move to 7-0 on the season.
For only the second time in 21 sets this season, Washington allowed an opponent to score 20 or more points in a single set. The Dawgs boasted a balanced attack against the Gaels, with two players recording double-doubles. Sophomore outside hitter Kindra Carlson recorded her first double-double of the season with 11 kills and 15 digs and hit .385 for the second-best attack percentage on the team. Junior outside hitter Jill Collymore recorded her third double-double of the season with 16 kills and 10 digs. Collymore also served up one ace and hit .297 on the evening. Senior middle blocker Jessica Swarbrick led the team in hitting for the second straight match, recording seven kills on 10 swings for a .500 attack percentage. She also chipped in a solo block and three block assists. Junior Airial Salvo racked up 10 kills and eight digs, hitting .321 for the match.
As a team, Washington hit .325 for the match and held the Gaels to .174 attack percentage. The Huskies picked up 48 kills to the Gaels' 34 and out-assisted St. Mary's 43-32. Washington also out-paced the Gaels in service aces, 3-2 and in digs, 60-46. Saint Mary's out-blocked the Dawgs, 7.0-5.0.
