Stanford's Alix Klineman Named Pac-10 Volleyball Player Of The Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- STANFORD outside hitter Alix Klineman has been named the Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Sep. 8 - 14, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Klineman led the Cardinal offensively as they swept all three matches of the Stanford Invitational. The sophomore from Manhattan Beach, Calif., recorded double-figures each night as she totaled 40 kills while hitting .481.

Against New Mexico State, Klineman posted three blocks to go along with 11 kills. She topped that the next night with 12 kills and four blocks against UC Santa Barbara.

In the tournament championship match against Santa Clara, the All-American put up a career-best .615 hitting percentage as she connected for 16 kills in 26 attempts. For her efforts, Klineman was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player, her first tournament MVP honor.

This is Klineman's second weekly award of her career and the 64th for Stanford all-time.
