Women's Golf In Scotalnd: Blog #5
Sept. 15, 2008
The day began with our usual eggs, cereal, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. From there we were off on our blue bus to Crail Golf Club's Craighead course and our match against St. Andrews University. Amongst the wide fairways, thick heather, and brutal side winds we beat St. Andrews University in two of the three matches we played. Sydney Burlison and Mari Chun won their four-ball match easily without ever losing a hole, while Lila Barton and Ki-Shui Liao defeated their opponents four and three. Rounding out the competition was Piper Miller. She lost her singles match on the last hole. She made a clutch 12ft. putt for par but her opponent drained a 10ft. birdie putt to win the match. After completing our match we headed up to the clubhouse were we enjoyed tomato soup and egg salad sandwiches with the St. Andrews Team. It was nice to be inside from the cold overlooking the cliffs and the crashing waves.
From Craig Head we climbed back into our bus and headed down the narrow Scottish roads back to our dorms. After showering we went into town to have dinner and relax. This is truly an awesome experience for our team!
