UCLA's Michael Stephens Named Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player Of The Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- UCLA junior midfielder Michael Stephens has been named the Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 23 - 29, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Stephens played an active role for the Bruins over the weekend as they tied both San Diego and Cal State Northridge, pushing their unbeaten streak to three. The Naperville, Ill., native scored the first goal in UCLA's match at San Diego and the game-tying goal in the 85th minute, forcing overtime, against the Matadors.
The junior registered his second and third goals of the year, tying for the team lead in goals scored and set a new career-high in goals scored in a season. He is currently tied for fourth in the Conference in goals and tied for fifth in goals per game.
This is the first weekly honor for Stephens and the 31st all-time for UCLA.
