Men's Golf JV Finishes 14th at Desert Intercollegiate

TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona men's golf junior varsity team finished in 14th place Sunday at the University of Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Desert, Calif.
The Wildcat JV posted a final -round 301 (+13) to finish with a 54-hole total of 928 (+64). Today's total was UA's lowest round of the event and enabled the Wildcats to finish 14th in the 19-team field. Colorado State topped the field by seven strokes with a 13-over 877 total.
As was the case Saturday, Philip Bagdade once again led the Wildcats after carding a one-under 71 to finish in a tie for 10th place at five-over 221. His final-round tally was UA's lone under par round of the tournament. Denver's Daniel Wax used a scorecard tiebreaker to capture individual medalist honors at three-under 213.
Also competing for the UA JV was Peter Croonquist, who finished in 49th place at 231 (+15), Beck Miller, who tied for 74th place at 237 (+21), Andrew Kelly, who tied for 81st place at 239 (+23), and Kenji Hernandez, who finished in 94th place at 244 (+28).
The University of Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate was contested at the Classic Club, a par-72, 7,305-yard layout.
