Stanford Exits D'Novo/ITA All-American Championships

TULSA, Okla. - Both sophomore Alex Clayton and junior Richard Wire fell in their respective matches today, ending Stanford's participation in the D'Novo/ITA All-American Championships at the University of Tulsa.

Fourth-ranked Clayton suffered an unusual loss in the main draw to Louisiana State's 20th-ranked Michael Venus in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1. No. 66 Wire fell to Southern California's Abdullah Magdas in the main draw consolation bracket, 4-6, 6-0, 6-2.

The Cardinal will regroup and begin play at the Wilson ITA Regional Championships at California beginning on Oct. 17.
