Oct. 10, 2008
Walnut Creek, Calif. -
Chris Killmer of Washington has been named Pacific-10 Conference Golfer of the Month for September 2008.
Killmer, a junior from Bellingham, Wash., won the Husky Invitational by three strokes by shooting a five-under par 211 in the three-round event. It was Killmer's first Division I tournament victory and his performance led Washington to the team title, the Huskies' first tournament win in three years.
Killmer shot rounds of 70-69-72 as one of only two players to shoot under par for the tournament and the only player in the field to finish the tournament without a round over par.
Others nominated for Pac-10 player of the month honors were Jesper Kennegard of Arizona State and Joseph Bramlett of Stanford.
