Jenna Hagglund Named Pac-10 Player Of The Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Sophomore setter Jenna Hagglund has been named Pac-10 Player of the Week for Oct. 6-12, as announced by league commissioner Tom Hansen Monday, Oct. 13, 2008. The award is the second career honor for Hagglund and her first this season.
Hagglund had an outstanding weekend on the road in Los Angeles as the Huskies faced No. 8 UCLA and No. 11 USC. The West Chester, Ohio native registered two double-doubles in consecutive matches as Washington picked up a matching pair of five-set victories.
Against UCLA, Hagglund recorded a match-high 56 assists and was second on the team with a career-high 25 digs for her second double-double of the season.
The following night, Hagglund helped the Huskies snap USC's 32-match home winning streak as she posted 57 assists and 11 digs for her third double-double of the season. Hagglund now has 2,111 career assists for eighth place all-time at Washington.
The announcement from the Pac-10 comes on the heels of Washington's season-high ranking of No. 7 in the country, according to the AVCA Coaches Poll released Monday morning.
