AROUND THE LEAGUE

CALIFORNIA (6-2-4)
The Golden Bears battled back from a 2-0 deficit against UCLA Friday to force overtime, but the Bruins came out on top as they defeated Cal 3-2. SO MF Demitrius Omphroy and RS-SO MF Hector Jimenez each found the back of the net in the loss. The Bears salvaged their weekend with a 1-1 tie against San Diego State. SO F Andrew Wiedeman scored his sixth goal of the season and now leads the Conference in points with 16.

OREGON STATE (3-6-3)
The Beavers fell at home to Washington Friday, 1-2. SR F Robby Christner scored his league-leading seventh goal of the season in the 85th minute of action to prevent the shutout for OSU. SO GK Steve Spangler totaled seven saves for the Beavers.

SAN DIEGO STATE (3-5-2)
The Aztecs earned their first road victory as they shut out Stanford 1-0 Friday. SO MF Raymundo Reza scored the game-winning goal in the 83rd minute, marking his third goal of the season. Five differnet SDSU players have registered three goals in 2008. The Aztecs closed out their weekend with a 1-1 draw at No. 6 California.

STANFORD (3-6-2)
Head coach Bret Simon picked up his 150th career win as the Cardinal snapped UCLA's six-game unbeaten streak with a 2-1 victory Sunday. SO D Shaun Culver scored his first goals of the season and FR MF Clayton Holz netted his first career-goal, the game winner. JR GK John Moore collected seven saves for Stanford. He now has 40 saves on the year, ranking second in the Conference.

UCLA (3-4-5)
UCLA upset No. 6 California on the road in a 3-2 overtime thriller. The win marked the first road victory for the Bruins this season. JR MF Michael Stephens converted his fourth penalty kick of the season to provide the game-winning goal. The win was also the first in Conference play for UCLA. Stephens led the team, firing five shots, three on goal.

WASHINGTON (7-3-1)
The Huskies improved their unbeaten streak to six with a 2-1 victory at Oregon State. FR F Brent Richards and JR MF Jo Jo Katz each scored goals for UW. Richards is now tied with SR MF Raphael Cox for the team lead in goals with five. He took a match-high four shots and leads the Conference in shots (44) and shots pergame (4.00). Washington out shot OSU 18-9.
