Men's Golf in 12th Place at Del Walker Intercollegiate

TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona men's golf junior varsity team stands in 12th place Thursday after the first round of the Del Walker Intercollegiate in Long Beach, Calif.
The Wildcat JV posted a first-round 294 (+10) and stands 12th in the 15-team field. Despite playing with only four players, the Arizona JV still managed to post its low round of the season. Colorado State leads the field after the opening round with a 17-under 267 total.
Sophomore John Kostis led Arizona through the first 18 holes, carding a one-under 70. He is currently tied for 15th place. The opening-round tally was a season-low round for Kostis and equaled the low round of his collegiate career.
The Del Walker Intercollegiate continues through Friday at the Virginia Country Club, a par-71, 6,633-yard layout.
