Two Huskies Enter Round Three Of World Competition

Oct. 17, 2008

ADALAIDE, Austrailia -- Two UW golfers are right in the thick of the competition at the World Amateur Team Championship at the Royal Adelaide Golf Club and the Grange Club.

Entering the third round of play, UW junior Nick Taylor, representing Canada, is 1-under while sophomore Tze Huang Choo is 4-over. Taylor, who is tied for 25th, was even after the first round (72). He has made four birdies each round, but made one less bogey on the second day. Choo was also even through the first 18 holes, but had a rough second day, which saw him double-bogey the seventh hole. He finished strong, however, with consecutive birdies on the eigth and ninth holes before calling it a day.

Canada is currently 17th in the standings at even par, while Singapore is tied for 27th at 7-over. Scotland and the United States are tied for the lead at 17-under. Choo tees off at 7:41 a.m. (12:11 p.m. PT) while Taylor tees off at 1:13 p.m. (7:43 p.m. PT). Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
