Oct. 22, 2008
SEATTLE - This Friday's Pac-10 women's soccer match between the Washington Huskies and Oregon State Beavers at Paul Lorenz Field in Corvallis, Ore., has been changed to 5 p.m. The game was previously scheduled for 5:30.
The Huskies (10-5-0, 1-3-0) are coming off their first win in Pac-10 play, a thrilling 3-2 victory Sunday over California, which was ranked No. 13 at the time. Junior Veronica Perez scored twice in the final 15 minutes to give UW the win, its first over Cal since 2004.
With just five games remaining, the Huskies are in good shape to make their first NCAA tournament appearance since 2004, when they made a program-best Elite Eight appearance. Perez leads the Huskies with 10 goals and two assists this season while senior Melissa Beal has chipped in five goals and an assist.
UW will face Oregon State Friday at 5 p.m., and Oregon on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Huskies then travel to Pullman, Wash., to face Washington State, Friday, Oct. 31, before wrapping up the regular season at home against the Arizona schools. Live stats will not be available for Friday's game but will be available for Sunday's game at Oregon via GameTracker at GoHuskies.com.
