No. 2 USC At Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational

The No. 2 USC men's golf team, which finished third at the 2008 NCAA Championships, returns to action for the second time this season at the 2008 Isleworth-UCF Collegiate Invitational, Sunday through Tuesday (Oct. 26-28) at the Isleworth Golf and Country Club in Windermere, Fla.
The stacked 18-team field battling the par 72, 7,544-yard course includes host Central Florida, Alabama, Arizona, Charlotte, Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, LSU, Oklahoma State, South Carolina, Southern Cal, Stanford, Texas, Texas Tech and UCLA.
Live results are available at Golfstat.com. USC will be trying to extend a streak of finishing in the top four of 12 consecutive tournaments.
USC's lineup for the Isleworth will consist of two-time All-American first teamer Jamie Lovemark, senior Tom Glissmeyer (2008 All-American honorable mention), sophomores Tim Sluiter and Matt Giles (both 2008 All-American h.m.) and senior Ryan Linton.
Junior Jamie Lovemark
Lovemark is a two-time All-American first teamer who won the 2007 NCAA individual championship and a slew of awards including 2007 Player of the Year. He is coming off a 2008 sophomore season in which he finished in the top 16 in all but one tournament. He tied for team high with seven top 10 finishes (all in the top 8). He had eight rounds in the 60s, including a season-best 65 at the UH Hilo Invitational ... In his first 2008-09 event, Lovemark tied for 10th at the Fall Preview.
Senior Tom Glissmeyer
Glissmeyer, a 2008 All-American honorable mention pick, posted six top 16 finishes as a 2008 junior and posted three consecutive top six finishes late in the year, including tying for sixth at both the Pac-10 and NCAA Regional Championships ... In his first event of the 2008-09 season, he tied for 24th at the Fall Preview.
Sophomore Tim Sluiter
Sluiter, a 2008 All-American honorable mention pick, had seven top 14 finishes and four in the top 10 as a 2008 freshman, including a tie for ninth at the 2008 NCAA Championships (where he was USC's top finisher). He also won the individual title at the 2008 USC Collegiate Invitational ... Sluiter tied for 10th in USC's opening event at the Fall Preview and matched his USC low with a final round 67.
Sophomore Matt Giles
Giles, a 2008 All-American honorable mention selection, had two top 11 finishes as a freshman and six in the top 27. The Isleworth is his first event as a sophomore.
Senior Ryan Linton
Linton, who played in two events as a junior, is matching that total already in USC's second event of his senior year. His best finish last year was a tie for 20th at the USC Collegiate Invitational. He tied for 49th in USC's 2008-09 opener.
Tim Sluiter fired a 4-under 67 and finished tied for 10th with junior teammate Jamie Lovemark as the No. 2 USC men's golf team finished fourth at the highly competitive 2008 Ping/Golfweek Fall Preview at the Inverness C.C. in Toledo, Ohio, on Sept. 30.USC finished with a combined 15-over 867 (286-291-290). Oklahoma State (843) took first and was followed by Tennessee (859), Georgia (861), USC and Alabama (868).Sluiter (76-70-67) and Lovemark (66-76-71) tied for 10th at even 213. Sluiter's 67 featured four birdies without a bogey as he tied his low round as a Trojan. He did it twice as a freshman last season. Lovemark also had four birdies on the day. USC extended its streak of finishing in the top four to 12 consecutive tournaments.
Also competing Monday and Tuesday (Oct. 27-28) for the Trojans are senior Gavin Reid, sophomores Bo DeHuff and Daniel Park and freshman Steve Lim in the Bill Cullum Invitational at Wood Ranch C.C. in Simi Valley.
