Stanford Volleyball Raises More Than $6,000 For Breast Cancer Awareness

Stanford, Calif. - The Stanford women's volleyball team hosted another successful Dig For The Cure event last Sunday, raising more than $6,000 for breast cancer awareness and research.
Through flat donations, pledges, t-shirts sales and a silent auction, the team raised $6,615. The match drew more than 3,000 fans, marking the largest home crowd of the year.
Sponsored by the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, the event benefited Susan G. Komen For The Cure. Stanford has been part of a long-standing tradition of Dig For The Cure matches by volleyball teams around the country. In 2008, all 10 Pac-10 teams are hosting a breast cancer awareness event, with 11 matches in the month of October.
