Stanford's Barboza Named Pac-10 Volleyball Player Of The Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- STANFORD outside hitter Cynthia Barboza has been named the Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Oct. 20 - 26, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Barboza helped the Cardinal back into a tie for the Conference lead over the weekend posting road victories over No. 14 USC and No. 10 UCLA. The Long Beach, Calif., native matched her season high with 20 kills and registered her best defensive performance of her career with 22 digs against the Bruins.

Barboza hit over .400 for the fourth time this year at UCLA (.405). Turning in 11 kills and 17 digs at USC, the senior has totaled eight double-doubles on the season.

This is the third weekly honor for Barboza and the 65th all-time for Stanford.
