Cougars Finish Third at Final Fall Tournament

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - The Washington State women's golf team took third place at the Palmetto Intercollegiate, held at the par-72, 5,931-yard Oak Point Golf Club. The women bounced back in the final two rounds to move up five spots on the team leaderboard.

The women carded a 308 (+20) during the last 18 holes, the second-best final-round score out of the 19-team field.

Freshman Andrea Rosete closed out her final round of the fall season with a 73 (+1), the best round of her young career. Rosete finished with a three-round total of 229 (+13), good enough to finish in a tie for 12th, marking her second top 25 finish as a Cougar.

Right on her heels was senior Jessica Black, who finished in a tie for 15th with a three-round score of 230 (+14). Fellow senior Amy Eneroth just missed her fifth consecutive top 25 finish. She posted a 234 (+18) and finished in a tie for 27th, one stroke back of the top 25.

Rounding out the Cougar lineup were freshmen Kristen Allard and Lauren Howell. Allard posted a final score of 236 and finished in a tie for 34th. Howell was one stroke behind, carding a 237 and ending in a tie for 37th.

This was the final tournament of the fall season. The women's team participated in five tournaments and finished in the top 25 in three of them, including a win at the Inland Invitational, the first tournament at the Palouse Ridge Golf Course. The first tournament of the spring season will be Feb. 15-17, at the Hurricane Invitational in Miami, Fla.
