Wallace Wins Individual Event

Oct. 30, 2008

AUBURN, Wash. -- Three Huskies finished in the top 5 at the Huskies Individual Tournament at Washington National Golf Course on Monday, with junior Darren Wallace on top.

Wallace, from Langley, B.C., shot a 144 (74-70) over two days of competition to become this year's medalist. Following Wallace were Husky freshman Jens Bracht (73-77) and senior John Wise (81-69), who finished in a tie for fourth place with a score of 150 apiece.

The 27 players took advantage of an unusually long Washington National course because of the less than dry conditions. Players from Washington State, St. Martin's, the University of British Columbia, Seattle University and Oregon participated.

Other Husky finishes included Dylan Goodwin, who tied for ninth place with a 81-73-154, and Ty Chambers finished in a tie for 12th place with a 80-76-156.

The Huskies travel to Saint Martin, Calif. this weekend to play in their last tournament of the fall season, the CordeValle Invitational, which begins on Monday.
