Oregon's Neticia Enesi Named Pac-10 Volleyball Player Of The Week
Nov. 3, 2008
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- OREGON middle blocker Neticia Enesi has been named the Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Oct. 27 - Nov. 2, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Enesi posted a career-best weekend in two five-set matches at No. 12 USC and No. 9 UCLA leading the team in hitting (.524), kills (40), blocks (13) and points (46.5). Her block assists tally against the Trojans (12) was third-most in a match all-time for Oregon, a team season-high and a personal career-high for the junior.
The Dalles, Ore., native's 23 kills at USC was also a personal best and the second-most in a match this season for the balanced Duck offense, which totaled four hitters with double-digit kills versus the Trojans. Enesi's 12 overall blocks in a match was also a career-high, team season-best and ninth all-time for the Ducks.
Despite losing the five-set contest at USC, which included a 23-21 final set, Oregon's regular season sweep of UCLA was the first-ever in school history, in a series dating back to 1976.
This is the first weekly honor for Enesi and the 13th overall for Oregon.
