Former Devil Dustin Pedroia Wins Gold Glove Award

BOSTON, Mass. - Former Sun Devil and current Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia was named an American League Gold Glove winner. This is the first career Gold Glove Award for Pedroia and the 10th time a former Devil has been honored as one of the top fielders in baseball.

Pedroia, who started for the American League in the All-Star Game and helped lead the Red Sox to the American League Championship Series, hit .326 this season, second in the American League. He finished the year tied with Seattle's Ichiro for the Major League lead in hits with 213.

Pedroia starred at Arizona State from 2002 to 2004, winning the 2004 Pac-10 Player of the Year award. He was last season's American League Rookie of the Year.
