Husky Notebook: QB Fouch Catches First Career TD
Nov. 8, 2008
SEATTLE, Wash. -- The Huskies scored their offensive touchdown on a trick play that utilized the throwing ability of freshman Cody Bruns and the hands of quarterback Ronnie Fouch. Six yards out, Fouch threw a lateral to Bruns, who faked right, turned and threw a high touchdown pass to the Huskies' redshirt freshman quarterback as he completed a wheel route. The touchdown was the first TD reception of Fouch's career at any level. Bruns, on the other hand, played quarterback while at Prosser.
'Coach said that we were going to go to it early,' Bruns said. 'We've been working on that for awhile in practice around the goal line, Ronnie said not to throw it too high and he came down with a great catch.'
Perkins connects on four field goals
Husky kicker Ryan Perkins went 4-for-4 on field goal attempts (34, 38, 21, 20), keeping the Huskies in the game for the first three quarters against Arizona State. The last time a Husky made four field goals in a game was John Anderson during the 29-26, triple-overtime win against Washington State on 11/23/02. While it was a career day for the UW senior, it was bittersweet.
'It's always frustrating because you want to score touchdowns,' Perkins said. 'Those two short field goals could be touchdowns, but it's still nice to put points on the board.'
