Men's Golf Has A Strong Fall Season, Grows As A Team

The ASU Men's Golf team has completed their Fall schedule and goes into the mid-season break looking forward to high expectations in the Spring. The Sun Devils finished 9th, 11th and 12th in the Golfweek, GCAA and Golfstat polls respectively. The team competed in two tournaments; the Olympia Fields Invitational and the Ping Preview.

At Olympia Fields, the Sun Devils finished sixth as a team and sophomore Scott Pinckney shot a career best 67 in the second round and finished tied for 7th. At the Ping Preview, Jesper Kennegard finished in a tie for 5th and led the team to a sixth place finish. This was Kennegard sixth career top-10 finish for the Sun Devils.

Next on the schedule for ASU is the Big Island Invitational in Kona, Hawaii. This tournament begins February 4, 2009 and will be the first of eight spring events for the Sun Devils.
