Stanford's Akinradewo Named Pac-10 Volleyball Player Of The Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- STANFORD middle blocker Foluke Akinradewo has been named the Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Nov. 3 - 9, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Akinradewo led the Cardinal over the weekend hitting a combined .634 with 4.67 kills per set and 5.42 points per set in three-set sweeps over Arizona Sate and Arizona. Against the Sun Devils, the Plantation, Fla., native totaled 12 kills on 18 attempts (.611) while also collecting four blocks. The senior also dominated the net against the Wildcats, posting a team-high 16 kills on just 23 swings (.652) and added four blocks.
Going into the weekend, Akinradewo was fourth nationally with a .451 hitting percentage, which she raised to .468. She leads the Pac-10 in hitting percentage and blocks (1.46 bps) and ranks seventh in points (3.96 pps).
This is the second weekly honor of the season and the fifth overall for Akinradewo and is the 66th all-time for Stanford.
