CALIFORNIA AND WASHINGTON KEEP STANFORD IN SIGHT

STANFORD leads by two, but CALIFORNIA and WASHINGTON are in the rearview mirror. The Golden Bears look to gain ground as they entertain the Cardinal Friday in a televised match on Comcast SportsNet West... Stanford, California and OREGON reached the 20-win plateau last week, with Washington one victory away from joining the group... This week's FSN televised match features No. 5 Washington at No. 8 Oregon. Paul Sunderland will call the action, while Karch Kiraly and Holly McPeak provide color commentary... Six Pac-10 teams are among the Top 25 in the latest Bison/AVCA Top 25 Poll, in fact all six are among the Top 10 - No. 2 STANFORD, No. 5 WASHINGTON, No. 7 CALIFORNIA, No. 8 OREGON, No. 9 UCLA, and No. 10 USC. It's the 25th consecutive week with at least six Pac-10 teams ranked among the Top 25.

Around the League - ARIZONA sophomore OH Tiffany Owens posted 17 kills and matched a career-high with 19 digs in the win over No. 6 California. It's the first win over a top-10 team since closing last season with a win over No. 10 UCLA and the highest ranked team the Wildcats have beaten since a 2005 win over No. 4 Stanford... ARIZONA STATE sophomore OH Sarah Reaves tallied 51 kills (7.29 kps) and hit .500 in a pair of home losses to Stanford and California. She snapped out of a slump that saw her collect just 67 kills (2.91 kps) and hit .131 over the previous eight matches... CALIFORNIA won its 20th match of the season for a third consecutive year (first time since 1981-83). Cal's 20 wins mark the eighth time in program history that it has reached that mark (five under head coach Rich Feller). Senior OH Am'ra Solomon logged a new career high with 20 kills against Arizona... OREGON has posted back-to-back 20-win seasons for the first time since 1983-84. Junior OH Sonja Newcombe needs 10 kills to reach 1,000 kills for her career and become the eighth Duck all-time to reach that mark. Senior OH Gorana Maricic is not far behind with 949 career kills... OREGON STATE junior OH Rachel Rourke became the fourth player in school history to twice record 400 or more kills in a season. She ranks fifth on the school's all-time list with 1,293 kills... STANFORD posted its eighth consecutive 20-win season, it's the 18th in the last 19 seasons, and 28th 20-win campaign in school history... UCLA senior OH Ali Daley needs five kills to reach 1,000 kills as a Bruin. For her collegiate career, she's recorded 1,357 kills as she posted 367 kills as a freshman at Long Beach State... USC freshman MB Lauren Williams hit .500, collecting 15 kills in 30 attempts with no errors in a split with the Washington schools. Over the last three matches, she's hitting .473 with 30 kills (2.73 kps)... WASHINGTON's home sweep of the Los Angeles schools over the weekend marked the first time since the Huskies joined the Pac-10 that Washington has won all four USC/UCLA matches in a single season. The next win will mark the seventh consecutive season in which the Huskies have posted 20 wins, and the 17th season overall... WASHINGTON STATE sophomore MB Brittany Tillman has posted 41 kills (3.15 kps) over the last four matches and is hitting .325 during that span.
