San Diego State's Reza Named Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player Of The Week
Nov. 11, 2008
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- SAN DIEGO STATE sophomore midfielder Raymundo Reza has been named the Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Nov. 4 - 10, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Reza turned in a career day Sunday, scoring three goals and assisting on the fourth as the Aztecs shut out Cal State Bakersfield, 4-0. It marked the third consecutive victory and fourth straight decision without a loss. The Denver, Colo., native became the first San Diego State player to net a hat trick since Tyler Tinling put in four goals against Christian Heritage on Oct. 4, 2001.
Reza's seven points were the most in a match by a Pac-10 player this season. The sophomore totaled a career-high six shot attempts, five on goal. For the season, Reza is tied for second in the Conference in points per game (1.18) and goals per game (0.47), while ranking ninth in shots per game (2.12) and tied for 10th in assists per game (0.24).
This marks the first weekly honor for Reza and the 11th overall for San Diego State.
