AROUND THE LEAGUE

CALIFORNIA (9-3-5)
The Golden Bears shut out Oregon State on Friday, 1-0. SO F Andrew Wiedeman scored his third game-winning goal of the season on an assist from SO MF Servando Carrasco in the 72nd minute of play. Wiedeman posted his team-leading eighth goal of the season on Sunday as Cal came back to beat Washington, 2-1. SR MF Pat Marion connected on the game-winner in the 88th minute for the Golden Bears.

OREGON STATE (5-9-4)
The Beavers traveled to the Bay Area over the weekend where they fell to No. 14 California, 1-0, and tied Stanford, 0-0. Against the Golden Bears, SR F Robby Christner attempted a team-high four shots, while SO GK Steve Spangler collected eight saves in the loss. On Sunday, JR GK Mike Miller took his turn in the net where he totaled four saves and registered the shutout.

SAN DIEGO STATE (6-8-3)
The Aztecs closed out their non-conference season with a 4-0 shutout of Cal State Bakersfield on Sundy. SO MF Raymundo Reza became the first Aztec to record a hat trick since 2001. SDSU has won three straight games and is unbeaten in its last four. The Aztecs close out the season hosting Conference champion UCLA on Saturday.

STANFORD (4-10-3)
The Cardinal picked up a big Conference win over Washington on Friday as they defeated the Huskies 4-2 at home. Four differnet players netted their first goals of the season for Stanford. On Sunday, the Cardinal played Oregon State to a 0-0 draw, but out shot the Beavers 21-12 in the match.

UCLA (9-4-6)
In their final non-conference match of the season, the Bruins defeated No. 25 Cal Poly 2-1 on senior day. FR MF Andy Rose scored his first collegiate goal in the 18th minute on a long-distance shot that found the right corner of the net. SR F Maxwell Griffin registered his Conference leading fourth game-winning goal of the season giving him 10 goals overall and pushing his point total to 22 for the season.

WASHINGTON (8-7-2)
The Huskies dropped two matches over the weekend, falling to both Stanford, 4-2, and No. 14 California, 2-1. JR MF Daniel Phelps scored his first collegiate goal in the 74th minute against the Cardinal and SR MF Raphael Cox connected on a penalty kick in the 80th minute of action to avoid the shutout. At Cal, the Huskies took an early 1-0 lead on FR MF Dylan Tucker-Gangnes' third goal of the season. With the game tied at halftime UW gave up the game-winner in the 88th minute of play.
