Men's Cross Country Receives At-Large Bid To NCAA Championships
Nov. 16, 2008
Eric Peterson and the men's cross country team got some great news on Sunday as they received word that they had been awarded an at-large berth to the NCAA Championships, held in two weeks in Terre Haute, IN.
The men finished sixth over the weekend at the NCAA West Region Championships and were in a good position to receive an at-large bid, but had to wait and see until Sunday. The West Region will be sending seven teams, including the Bruins, to the National meet.
'This team has run exceedingly well this season,' said head coach Eric Peterson. 'We have competed against many ranked teams throughout the last two months and have posted wins over a lot of the teams ranked ahead of us. We are a very deserving group to receive a bid and I am very excited to return to Nationals with a full team.'
Last season, the Bruin men missed a spot at Nationals by finishing one point shy of sixth-place.
