PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) -- Taylor Rochestie and freshman Klay Thompson each scored 17 points as Washington State beat Sacramento State 76-55 Friday night.

Rochestie hit five of six from behind the 3-point line and added 10 assists for his first double-double as a Cougar. It was the 100th game of his career.

Thompson connected on five of nine from 3-point range, with four of those 3-pointers coming in the first half for Washington State (3-0).

Mike Edwards scored 10 points for Sacramento State (0-3).

Sacramento State managed to score 28 points in the first half despite committing 11 turnovers. The Hornets kept the first half close by hitting 50 percent from the field and out-rebounded the Cougars early, 17-11.

Washington State pulled away in the second half with crisp shooting, including an impressive 52 percent from the 3-point line.
