TUCSON- The Arizona swimming and diving program completed its first diving invitational this weekend in the new diving structure.

 

In day three, the divers competed in mixed platform exercises. Harrison Jones of USC claimed the overall title with a score of 334.95.

 

Arizona’s Ben Grado placed third today with a composite score of 294.75. He was joined by teammates Craig Sheedy (228.15), Andres Guerra (224) and Matt McCahill (223.60).

 

For the Arizona women, Samantha Kunk recorded a score of 185.80 on the day.

 

“We are very pleased with our first invitational held in our new pool,” said head diving coach Michele Mitchell. “We anticipate hosting additional competitions in the future.”

 

The Arizona swimming and diving program will next compete as a team at home on Jan. 2 against Oregon State, Washington and Northern Arizona. The swimmers will be heading to Austin, Texas next week to compete in the Texas Invitational from Dec. 4-6.
