Arizona's Tiffany Owens Named Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- ARIZONA outside hitter Tiffany Owens has been named the Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Nov. 17 - 23, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Owens led the Wildcats to their first Pac-10 weekend sweep since 2006 as Arizona upset No. 8 Oregon, 3-1, and posted a three-set sweep over Oregon State. In the two matches, the San Bernardino, Calif., native hit .400 while averaging five kills per set.
Against the Ducks, Owens registered her second highest kill total of the season with 22. She also added eight digs and three blocks, which tied a season-high for the sophomore. On Sunday, Owens posted her eighth double-double of the season against the Beavers with 13 kills and 17 digs while hitting .429. She currently leads Arizona in kills with 288 on the season and is second in digs with 248.
This is the first weekly honor for Owens and the 26th all-time for Arizona.
