Track & Field Announces 2009 Indoor & Outdoor Schedules
Nov. 24, 2008
The women's team will compete at several meets in Seattle, WA as well as big meets at the New Balance Collegiate Invite in New York and the Tyson Invite in Arkansas. The men's team will compete in Flagstaff for two meets, as well as in Nebraska at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite. The MPSF Championships will once again be hosted by Washington. Last chance meets in Iowa and Seattle are also on the schedule.
Indoor Nationals will not be held in Fayetteville, AR for the first time in several years as the NCAA meet will head to College Station, TX and the campus of Texas A&M March 13-14.
The Bruins will play host to three meets during the outdoor season - the Cal/Nevada Championships (March 28-29), the UCLA Invitational (April 3-4) and the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner Kersee Invitational (April 9-11). The Cal/Nevada meet has been held at Fresno State for several years, but will come down to Westwood in 2009. The UCLA Invite, usually the first outdoor competition of the season for the Bruins, will now be contested in April.
Members of the women's team will compete at the Texas Relays (1-4) and the Penn Relays (23-25) in April, while the men's team will travel to Eugene, OR for a second dual with the Ducks (18).
The annual dual with USC will be held on the Trojan campus May 1-2 to wrap up the regular season. The Pac-10 (8/9 and 16/17) and West Region Championships (29/30) will both be held in Eugene, OR in May, while the NCAA Outdoor Championships will head to Fayetteville, AR June 10-13. The USATF Junior and Senior National Championships will remain in Oregon after having hosted the Olympic Trials this past June, and will be contested June 25-28.
