China Knocks Off United States at Women's Under-20 World Cup

TEMUCO, Chile - China scored a pair of second half goals to defeat the United States 2-0 in the final match of Group B play for both teams at the Under-20 Women's World Cup, Wednesday.

Washington State's Kiersten Dallstream started for the American, but left in the ninth minute due to an injury. A report from U.S. Soccer indicated she was able to jog on the sideline and will be able to continue in the tournament.

Despite the loss, the United States won its group. The Americans tied France with second points, but secured the top spot by virtue of a 3-0 victory over the French, Nov. 19.

The United States will play England in a quarterfinal match, Sunday. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m., Pacific in Chillan, site of the Americans' first two matches of the tournament. England earned its spot in the quarterfinal with a tie against New Zealand on a second half goal in the fourth minute of injury time.
