USC rolls over Tennessee-Martin 70-43

LOS ANGELES (AP)--Taj Gibson had 15 points and eight rebounds to lead host Southern California to a 70-43 nonconference victory over Tennessee-Martin on Friday night.
Dwight Lewis scored 13 points and freshman DeMar DeRozan finished with 12 points for USC (4-2). Trojans guard Daniel Hackett added eight points, six rebounds and five assists.
Lester Hudson finished with 20 points and was the only player for Tennessee-Martin (2-3) in double figures. It was the lowest output for the Skyhawks in a game this season. The 43 points surrendered by the Trojans were the fewest scored by an opponent since Dec. 14, 2006 when they held Bethune-Cookman to 36 in an 88-36 home win.
USC used a 28-4 run during the first half to pull away from Tennessee-Martin. The Skyhawks mustered two field goals during a 12-minute stretch and had just seven field goals during the first half, which they shot 26.9 percent from the field.
USC shot over 57 percent from the field.
