Arizona misses tournament

The Arizona volleyball team was not selected for the 64-team NCAA tournament Sunday night and finished its season 16-14.

 

The Wildcats missed the tournament for the third straight season after losing its final two matches this weekend in Washington.

 

Arizona fell to Washington, 3-1, Friday night and lost to Washington State, 3-2 Saturday night. The Wildcats ended the season 6-12 in the Pac-10 Conference after going 0-9 in road matches and 6-3 at home.

 

Six Pac-10 teams will continue their seasons in the tournament including Stanford, Cal, Washington, Oregon, UCLA and USC. Two more Arizona non-conference opponents, Santa Clara and Colorado State also were selected to the tournament.
