Oregon State Downs Fresno State

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) -Oregon State snapped a 25-game losing streak and won its first game under first-year coach Craig Robinson beating Fresno State 62-54 Sunday.
Oregon State (1-4) controlled the glass with a 34-26 advantage and held Fresno State (2-3) to 24.1 percent shooting in the second half.
Four Beavers scored in double figures, led by guard Rickey Claitt's 14 points as the Beavers ran their patient and precise Princeton-style offense that flustered Fresno State. Oregon State also made 8-of-14 3-pointers, including 7 of its first 11.
The Beavers, who trailed 40-39 in the second half, went on a 13-2 run for roughly five minutes to distance themselves.
Fresno State tried to mount a late rally; however, a tip-in by Roeland Schaftenaar and a late, breakaway dunk by Seth Tarver sealed the victory for Oregon State.
Stellar defense in the second half by Oregon State gave the Beavers the advantage as Fresno State shot only 24.1 percent (7-of-29) from the floor over the final 20 minutes.
For the game, Fresno State was held to 37.0 percent (20-of-54) from the field as Oregon State shot over 50.0 percent from the field (23-of-44; 52.3 percent) for the third time this season.
Wallace and Omari Johnson each had 12 points in the win while Seth Tarver added 11 for the Beavers.
Dwight O'Neill had 14 points to lead the way for Fresno State.
