Four Sun Devils Earn Pac-10 All-Academic Football Honors

TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State University football student-athletes Mike Nixon, Colin Parker, Anthony Reyes and Thomas Weber have been selected to the Pacific-10 All-Academic football team, the conference announced today. Nixon (Phoenix, Ariz.) was a First Team honoree, while Parker (Chandler, Ariz.), Reyes (Santa Clara, Calif.) and Weber (Loyola, Calif.) were all Second Team selections. This is the second straight year Nixon has received First Team honors.

Nixon carries a 4.05 GPA as a political science major. The junior linebacker leads the Pac-10 with five interceptions this season. He was also named an ESPN The Magazine ESPN First Team Academic All-District VIII selection for the second straight year. Parker, a redshirt freshman linebacker, has a 3.28 GPA in business. Reyes, a senior linebacker, is a BIS major with a 3.32 GPA. Weber, a sophomore kicker and punter, has a 3.10 GPA in kinesiology. He was a First Team All-Academic selection in 2007.

A student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 grade-point average and be in their second year at a university to be eligible.
