LAST TIME OUT
Led by freshmen Jazmine Perkins and April Cook, WSU knocked off tournament-host San Francisco 82-71 in the team's final game of the odwalla Classic at War Memorial Gym.

Perkins scored 13 points and tied her career high with eight rebounds en route to garnering most valuable player honors of the odwalla Classic. In the first game of the tournament Perkins scored 28 points and recorded eight rebounds.

Cook was also named to the all-tournament team after scoring a game-high 21 points - a career high and her second 20-point outing of the season. She scored 18 points in WSU's Friday match-up against Northern Colorado, and has scored at least 18 points in four consecutive games.

THE SERIES
The Cougars are looking for their first victory over Long Beach State after dropping each of the first two meetings against the 49ers. The Cougars were defeated in last year's meeting 61-55 (Dec. 21, 2007), and lost the first meeting 86-45 Nov. 28, 1982. The Cougars played both previous meetings on the road.

HIGH SCORING COUGARS
WSU is averaging 78.8 points per game through the first five games of the 2008-09 season, a mark that ranks 21st nationally and second in the Pacific-10 Conference. Only Oregon State (80.0 ppg) has a higher scoring output through games played prior to the month of December.
