Post game quotes from NCAA Volleyball Second Round

Dec. 6, 2008

Head Coach Rich Feller

'We're moving on. That was a great. We needed to be tested, to have to push back. We had a little bit of a let down, a short span that really reminded us how fast things can slip away. Nothing really big, just a few consecutive small errors. That was very good for us. We're going to be better next week because of this.'

'New Mexico runs a really fast offense. They do a lot of motion. They set the ball very low to the outside, trying to find creases here and there. And I think when we had our blocking run there where we really blocked them a lot, they changed a little bit. They rotated themselves back. They got different match ups. In the one set, he used probably all 12 subs, three different setters, four different outside hitters. He did everything he could to try to change things, and he really couldn't then. It's a faster game. This is kind of the way that Penn State plays. They are bigger and more athletic, but it was good for us to see this. I am not sure how Illinois plays. I haven't seen much of them yet.'

Junior Middle Hitter Mindi Wiley

'The way we responded after losing the third set was amazing. It was all us. It all came down to us playing our game. I think it was good for us to lose a set and to know that we can come back and dominate in the next set and play Cal volleyball. We flipped a switch and it all came back.'

Senior Outside Hitter Am'ra Solomon

'I (play opposite) all the time in practice, and it is starting to feel better on the court. Anywhere I am out there on the court, I really like it.'

'Any game could be our last game. As a senior, tonight was my last home. I just wanted everyone to be happy and bring energy to the court. Just to fight and play together as a team. That's how I want to lead and help my teammates.'
