PAC-10 IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT

The Pac-10 has won five of the last seven NCAA titles. Washington won it all in 2005, Stanford claimed titles in 2001 and 2004, while USC captured titles in 2002 and 2003. Over the last eight years of the NCAA Tournament, the Pac-10 has compiled an impressive 134-41 (.766) record. Toss out the 12 postseason matches in which Pac-10 teams faced each other and the league's NCAA Tournament record against non-conference foes stands at 122-29 (.808) ... Overall, the Pac-10 has won 13 NCAA titles - that's nearly half of the 27 titles presented by the NCAA. The league's overall record against non-conference opponents in NCAA Tournament play is 259-94 (.734) ... Over the last seven years, the Pac-10 is 43-2 (.956) in the first round, and 95-11 (.896) in opening round matches since 1990.

CALIFORNIA - The Golden Bears are making their 11th NCAA Tournament appearance... The Bears' 23 regular season victories are the most since the 1982 squad posted 25 wins before picking up three more wins in the postseason... The 13 Pac-10 wins are a school record in Pac-10 play... Coach Rich Feller has guided the Bears to their third consecutive 20-win season, and fifth in the last seven years... Junior OH Hana Cutura is second in the Pac-10 with 4.42 kills per set.

OREGON - The Ducks are making their seventh NCAA Tournament appearance, and record third consecutive appearance... Oregon finished regular season play at 23-8 - its best regular season record since 1984 when it finished the regular season at 24-10. The Ducks have posted a winning record (11-7) in league play for the first time since 1989 when they finished Pac-10 play at 10-8... Over the last three seasons (2006-08), Oregon has posted 27 league wins. In the 15 seasons from 1991-2005, it won a total of 23 Pac-10 matches.

STANFORD - The Cardinal are making their 28th NCAA Tournament appearance, and are one of two teams (also Penn State) to have appeared in each NCAA Tournament... Stanford has won six NCAA titles (1992, 1994, 1996, 1997, 2001, 2004). The Cardinal captured their 12th Pac-10 title and have finished lower than second in Pac-10 play just once in 23 seasons of league play (4th in 2000)... Senior MB Foluke Akinradewo is hitting .446 for her career, well above the Pac-10 career record of .415 set by USC's Emily Adams (2001-04)... The Cardinal are riding an 13-match win streak.

UCLA - The Bruins are making their 27th NCAA Tournament appearance... The Bruins have won three NCAA titles (1984, 1990, 1991)... Senior S Nellie Spicer sits third on the Pac-10's all-time list with 5,997 assists. Freshman MB Amanda Gil leads the league in blocks (1.46 bps) and ranks seventh in hitting percentage (.331), which tops all Pac-10 freshmen.

WASHINGTON - The Huskies are making their 13th NCAA Tournament appearance. Washington won it's first NCAA title in 2005. Senior MB Jessica Swarbrick is second in the Pac-10 in hitting percentage (.438). She's on pace to set the school single-season record in that category (Darla Myhre hit .418 in 2003).
