Men's Hoops Falls to Iowa State in Hardwood Series

AMES, Iowa - Daniel Deane led Oregon State with 14 points; however, it was not enough as Iowa State claimed a 63-50 victory over the Beavers in the Pac-10/Big 12 Conference Hardwood Series on Saturday afternoon.
Lucca Staiger scored 14 points for Iowa State as the Cyclones won for the second consecutive time over the Beavers.
Craig Brackins scored 13 points and posted 10 rebounds for Iowa State (6-1). Wes Eikmeier added nine points and Diante Garrett had eight for the Cyclones.
After Iowa State claimed a double digit lead in the second half, Omari Johnson scored from the paint on two consecutive possessions to bring the Beavers within 50-44 with five minutes to play. Staiger ended the Beavers' 8-0 scoring drive with a 3-pointer to put the Cyclones in control.
Garrett's short jumper and an estimated 28-foot 3-pointer by Staiger put Iowa State up 60-50 as the clock wound down.
Oregon State will return to action on Saturday, Dec. 13, when the Beavers host Nebraska in a game televised by FSN Northwest at 5:00 p.m.
