ASU Swimming Ends First Half of Season Against Harvard

The Arizona State men's swimming and diving ended the first half of their season against Harvard. The Sun Devils (0-3) fell 121-108 to the 22nd ranked Crimson. Despite the loss, many Sun Devils had strong races.
Max Laney, Sean Boyle and Mohammed Madwa, shined. Laney took first in the 100 back with a time of 51.09. Later in the meet, he took second in the 50 back as well as the 100 IM. The junior clocked in times of 23.99 and 53.88.
Senior Boyle earned a win in the 200 free. The California native, who had earned a personal best in the meet earlier in the season at the Texas Invitational, finished in 1:40.25. Boyle also took second in the 50 fly, coming in at 22.51.
Madwa earned two wins for the Sun Devils. The 2008 Olympian took first in the 50 free with a time of 20.99 and followed that up with a win in the 100 free at 46.62. In diving Cameron Bradshaw won the 1-meter scoring 284.40 while Chris Pasanella took first in the 3-meter with 287.85 points.
The Sun Devils will start up again early in 2009. Both the men and the women will host Washington while the women will also compete against Oregon State. The meet is set for January 3 at 1 p.m.
