Victor Butler Joins Hughes on East-West Roster

Oregon State University senior defensive end Victor Strong-Butler will join teammate Brandon Hughes in the 84th annual East-West Shrine Game Sat., Jan. 17 at Robertson Stadium on the campus of the University of Houston.  The game will be televised by ESPN2.


The 6-2, 238-pound Rialto, Calif., native earned Pac-10 Conference First Team honors after making 54 tackles.  He made 16.5 tackles for loss, including eight quarterback sacks.  Butler has made 21.5 career sacks, second all-time at OSU.


Butler and his teammates suit up for the final time in 2008 when No. 24 Oregon State plays No. 18 Pittsburgh Dec. 31 at the 75th annual Brut Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas.  The game begins at approximately 11:15 a.m. PST and will be televised by CBS Sports.
