The Washington State women's basketball team (7-3) closes out 2008 with its final nonconference game of the season, squaring off against nationally-ranked and undefeated Kansas State (10-0) Sunday at 1 p.m. at Friel Court. The Wildcats enter the meeting ranked No. 22 in the AP poll and No. 18 in the coaches' poll.

Fans can listen to the match-up live on KQQQ 1150 AM, or at The game will also be broadcast live on GameTracker.

WSU closed out its two-game road trip to the Aloha State, falling 65-59 to Hawaii Monday at Stan Sheriff Center.

WSU found itself down by as many as 17 in the first half, and trailed by 15 at the break (31-16). After playing from behind the entire game, WSU clawed back, tying the score at 51 on a Katie Appleton 3-pointer with 3-minutes, 20-seconds remaining. Hawaii built its lead back to four (55-51) however, and the Cougars were only able to get back to within one from that point on.

Freshman guard Jazmine Perkins led the Cougars with 14 points, and recorded seven steals, tying the freshman single-game record set by Jade Hyett against Oral Roberts, Dec. 2, 1995. Perkins had bested her career high with five steals in the first half alone.

The Cougars and Wildcats have previously met twice, with Kansas State winning both meetings. The two teams have not met since 1994, and have never met in Pullman.

The Cougars will open the conference portion of their season next week against Washington in a nationally televised game on FSN. Tip-off against the Huskies is slated for 1 p.m.
